Opening a MUD for the first time.

I am not used to such freedom! Halp.

    Vhat is this…. “MUD?”

    Multi-User Dungeon.

Or it might be a Multi-User Dimension.

    Maybe a Massive User Dimentia?

MUD (and MUCK, MUSH and MOO) has many possible interpretations (multi-user shared hallucination is my favorite X3). All MU* are multiplayer text worlds, basically. Some focus more on chatting or exploring, some are heavily into roleplay, some are all about fighting things! Personally I like MUCKs a lot, such as FurryMUCK, but it can be fun to roll up a pixie monk and go nuts on quests in a good MUD :3

My friend Chris Taylor makes the best keychains. Many of them unfold to reveal internal structure, and they all come with fact sheets. I had trouble picking a few to show, because they are all amazing!

7/11 breathing. A skill to use for anxiety. It’s recommended to do it for 10-15 minutes. Like any other skill it does require a lot of practice. I advice that you practice it when you are feeling calm so you are ready in a time of need. If you lose count, which is easily done, simply start again until you do 15 minutes. It will also help with distraction even if you don’t get it right the first hundred times.
Breathing out longer than you breathe in actually activates your parasympathetic nervous system!
Anxiety is your sympathetic nervous system (“fight or flight”) setting off all the alarms, while breathing like this will set the parasympathetic system (“rest and digest”) into action shutting off the alarms and settling your nerves.
Other things that help: laughing, checking out what’s going on around you (moving head and eyes to orient to your surroundings), getting curious about something.
Take care, be safe.
I do this now! My shrink recommended it for when I was stressed, not sleeping, etc. He recommended this app for it, actually, should anyone want to try. It’s been helping regulate my sleep patterns (do this once when I wake up, once before I go to sleep)
editing my rebubble (and probably messing the structure all to crap and back, ty tumblr app) to add a link to an android app for this:
 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apps.paced.breathing
first one I’ve tried, lets you adjust the inhalation/exhalation/hold times, and offers optional sound marking out the times too.
hope this helps people with andriods :3

Positivity, or, Kicking Brain Demons Right in the Groin

    ashkatom:

So, a lot of you guys are struggling with mental health, as am I, and sharing the resources we’ve found is the best way to kick shitty neurochemistry right in the groin. This is something that I promised to Specs, er, a while back (I am not a timely person :C apologies, Specs), but I figure anyone who has trouble with negative self-talk could really benefit from this exercise. It’s a way of forcing an outside perspective and creating something that can interrupt that looping cycle.

    Details below:

Catlateral Damage is a first person mischievous cat simulator, where your objective is to knock as many of your loving owners belongings onto the floor within a 2 minute time limit.

It’s a fun little game, and there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had from knocking things over and making a mess (That’s probably why cats do it in the first place).  The dev plans to add more levels (rooms) to destroy, but at the Alpha gives you free reign to destroy your owners bedroom for 2 mins.  On your marks… get set… destroy!!

    Play the Alpha, Free

Video games in 2014 are off to a fucking phenomenal start
